BreachQuest is your trusted partner when your business has been compromised. Our team of former NSA, DoD, and US Cyber Command operators can respond immediately with an unparalleled capability to deliver best-in-class incident response, regardless of where you are located.

We're expanding, and are looking for a motivated and analytical consultant to help level up our recovery & remediation team. Our RR teams provide 24/7 threat monitoring and real-time threat intelligence, detect fraud, sabotage, malicious conduct, and security breaches. Our ideal candidate can deploy various technical, analytical, and legal tactics, while simultaneously owning BreachQuest's client-first values.

Within this role, you will report to the RR Associate Director — helping to drive remediation efforts, collaborate with a team of top-tier Cyber Security analysts, and iterate on BreachQuest's managed services offerings. Additionally, you will come with high EQ, enthusiasm, and a growth mindset, understanding the dynamics and importance of your role and putting our client’s interests first.

Who you are:

  • 1-3 years of relevant cybersecurity experience, whether in DFIR or alternative defensive positions.
  • A marked interest in all things cybersecurity — from the internal systems of Windows, Linux, or Unix, to EDR and EDP best practices, you have an inquisitiveness that is consistently growing.
  • You can distill complex processes and technical systems into clear, concise, and comprehensible terms to external stakeholders, and are comfortable acting as a liaison.

Role and Responsibilities:

  • Assist BQ RR teams with on-site remediation, assisting clients with recovery from network breaches/unauthorized access of data through restoring and/or rebuilding their network environment.
  • Perform SysAdmin and/or IT Helpdesk roles onsite with clients within an emergency recovery/restoration context.
  • Work closely with senior technical team members, acting as a technical liaison between the client and the BQ RR Engagement Lead during the engagement lifecycle. Additionally, assist BQ teams to understand and define client needs, and creating ad-hoc solutions to critical issues that may arise.

Hard Skills/Core Competencies

  • Certifications: CompTIA Server +, A +, Network +, Security +, or other relevant security certifications are a plus.
  • Knowledge of encryption and encoding methods, communication protocols, and algorithms
  • Knowledge of Firewall and network security, Windows security, and Windows servers.

You might have these (helpful, but not mandatory):

  • Bachelors or Masters degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Security, or other related fields
